Spiritcare

SpiritCare Ministry to Seniors meets the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly living in 46 long-term care centers and hospitals primarily in Alameda, San Mateo and santa Clara counties.  The ministry coordinates and trains volunteers to offer monthly Christian worship services, Bible studies, one-to-one visitations, counseling, and other enriching experiences for these seniors who long for friendship and spiritul encourangement.

Based in Burlingame, SpiritCare involves churches, volunteers and donors from a wide variety of faiths and welcomes volunteers of all ages.  SpiritCare holds a two-hour new volunteer orientation, as well as perdiodic seminars and worskshops, to prepare and sensitize individuals to the special needs of the elderly.  If you are able to give one or two hours a month, you can be a SpiritCare volunteer and brighten a lonely senior's day.
